Not code-signed yet. Windows will show “Windows protected your PC” the first time — choose More info, then Run anyway. Reading HEIC photos needs the free HEIF Image Extensions from the Microsoft Store, and text recognition needs a language installed under Settings → Time & language.

macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (64-bit) both ship each release. There's no Linux build.
Install
On macOS
Open the .dmg you downloaded.
Drag RyDF into your Applications folder.
Launch it. RyDF opens like any other app — no Gatekeeper warning to click through, because the build is signed and notarized by Apple.
On Windows
Run the .exe installer you downloaded — its name ends in -setup.exe.
Get past “Windows protected your PC.” Choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer isn’t code-signed yet, and SmartScreen warns about any installer it can’t tie to a publisher it knows.
Finish the installer and launch RyDF.
Updating. RyDF can check for new versions and download them for you — on a schedule you choose in Preferences ▸ Software updates, or only when you ask. It works the same on both platforms, and fetches the installer for the one you’re on. The installer lands in your Downloads folder either way. On Windows RyDF runs it for you and reopens itself when it's done; on macOS it opens the disk image and quits, and you drag the new version over the old one. You can also grab any build from the version history below.
Set RyDF as your PDF opener (optional)
RyDF asks once, the first time you launch it — Yes, No or Ask Me Later. No is final and won’t be raised again; Ask Me Later comes back next launch. You can settle it whenever you like under Preferences ▸ Default PDF viewer.
On macOS, Yes sets it there and then. To do it by hand, right-click any PDF in Finder → Get Info → under Open with choose RyDF → Change All…. RyDF registers for pictures too — JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, WebP and SVG — so the same Get Info steps work on those, and Open With ▸ RyDF opens a single file without changing anything.
On Windows, RyDF can’t set it for you: since Windows 8 no application is allowed to claim a file type for itself. Yes opens the Windows Default apps settings page, and you choose RyDF for .pdf there.
